We need a replacement water tank for our Gibson Houseboat. I need a fresh water holding tank for a 1990 44' Gibson Houseboat, the existing tank has leaks and we would like to replace it with a plastic tank.


Any ideas where we can find one quickly since we are having new carpet laid shortly and we would like to replace it before the carpet is laid. Thanks Carroll.

Well Carroll, I can understand the urgency in getting that water tank replaced quickly for your houseboat.

What I can recommend as a good replacement would be a
Polyethylene Water Tank, and they have different sizes and dimensions available.

As to finding tips and trick for installing the water tank, hopefully some of our readers will share and post comments about their houseboat water tank installation experiences.

Why not get rid of the water tank and replace it with a fresh water filtration system that will provide potable water that exceeds EPA regulations?

This makes a lot of sense to me since that is roughly a quarter ton of weight that you could use for food storage; you have none of the stale water issues if you are gone for a while; you don't have to worry about running out of water when you are gone from the dock for extended periods of time.

Call Gibson for the tank, they have OEM replacement plastic tanks at a good price, and it's built for your specific boat.

Carol, you need a 10" x 33" x 72" poly water tank. You can buy one directly from Gibson Boats. Talk to Bill Surface, he is in charge of the parts department.
