Need help with houseboat loan

Any houseboat loans available?

Any houseboat loans available?

I am looking for help with getting a houseboat loan so I can buy a houseboat to live on.

I am a disability pensioner with no savings and no big assets. I am wanting to get a loan for between $55000 and $100000 to purchase a houseboat to live on.

Does anyone know of a company that will help with this. Am looking for a loan term of at least 10 years or more. I have a good credit rating and I have never missed rental payments in the 7 years at my current address.

I live in Australia so that needs to be taken into account. I do not know if you can get a loan through a USA company if not living in the US.

Hello Shrek, thanks for posting in the houseboat forums.

I am sorry to hear about your search for a marine lender that will finance a boat with no downpayment.

When it comes to financing boats, there is plenty of factors and criteria that come into play. Things like credit history, your credit score, your downpayment, your income, your debts, your disposable income etc...

I do come from the "school of hard knocks" and believe that things happen to those that persevere. Keep searching and you will FIND... :)

One thing however, I do recommend reading our Houseboat Buying Guide before buying yourself a boat. It has all the tips and knowledge so you make smart buying decisions.
