Houseboat Charters - Fully equipped luxury rentals

Looking at luxury vacation houseboat charters, fully equipped with a captain and a crew, for those folks that want a hands off approach to a luxury houseboat rental vacation?


In San Diego you can charter a fishing boat for as many as 20 or more people for 1 to 10 days for fishing with a crew and a cook. What I would like to do is have a fully equipped luxury houseboat on a good fishing lake for families to fish, jet-ski and just relax. I would have a captain, crew, and a cook onboard, and with jet-skis and a fishing boat.

Is anyone doing this? If not what do you think about my idea? Price would include everything they would need, all they would have to bring is clothes and any personal items. Just get on the houseboat and go.

Well Rich, I think it is a great idea, since many people are interested in renting a houseboat for a vacation, however aren't interested in all the day to day obligations of navigating, cooking, and all the general housekeeping involved.

Just look at the "all inclusive" holiday vacation destinations around the world where people go to relax in the sun and beach. The meals and housekeeping are all taken care of.

Let me know if you decide to open one up, and I can possibly help provide some advertising and marketing for this potentially great business venture.

I know that when people go on vacation, people are willing to pay a premium for great service and facilities. That's what vacations are all about (just ask my wife) :)

Long time river capt. Passenger vessels now lunch bucket tugs.
Looking to start a new business in the upper midwest during summer Alabama/Florida in the winter. I want to find a way to test the business idea.

Is there anyone on here with a simular business on a river system who would be willing to chime in?

im in the process of doing this my self . i have my 100 ton masters and starting on the bst i can with a business plan . im not savvy at all with this but i do know how to give my guest a good time they keep coming back . i do educational / eco tours from an 1.5 hrs to all day . for someone els and its time for me to do something of my own. i work with up to 42 passengers at a time but now i want to have my own thing and cater to smaller groups its more personal . any input would be greatly apreceated .

Be aware that if you Captain the boat on the Colorado River system (including all Lakes) this service would require you to be licensed by the US Coast Guard, and you would be limited to carrying 6 passengers.

There are several companies from Arizona/California to the lakes of Kentucky and Tennesse. There are two on the ol'Miss and one one the Ohio River. All these companies offer luxury houseboats with crew for vacations up to the sleeping capacity. Check the web under houseboat vacations. Bill
