Long-Term Lease BoatLord - a houseboat rental landlord
I have investigated and found an opportunity to put a brand new houseboat in Weehawken, NJ with an awesome view of NYC (New York City). My intention is to become a boatlord (think of the boating version of landlord) and rent my houseboat out on a longterm lease basis.
I'm wondering how I should market this exciting opportunity for a young or seasoned professional to live on the water full time and work in the NY or NJ area.
Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Pat
Reply - AnswerWell Pat, congratulations on your idea of becoming a "boatlord" as I have always thought that there is an opportunity to allow folks to rent or embark into longterm leases of liveaboard houseboats.
Now in regards to your marketing plan, you could include some of the popular areas of social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.
You could get some exposure by attending some of the boat or marine trade shows, and you could advertise in some of the magazines that target "young well to do professionals".
If you wanted to acquire some very targeted traffic, you could advertise or get some leads from
a high traffic houseboat website.
As a very low cost marketing avenue, you could use
our houseboat classifieds section to attract some targeted potential clients.
Lastly, hopefully some of our readers and visitors will share and post comments about their longterm houseboat rental experiences and desires.
Feel free to use the "Click here to post comments." link found near the bottom of this page.
Thanks again for sharing, IAN from all-about-houseboats
