We just purchased a houseboat in Ontario Canada and live on it year round. We had an inspection when we purchased it and it came up with a couple of problems. One there are marrets on the hydro wire we are supposed to replace them with crimp on connectors. I don't see the reasoning behind this. Only thing I can think of is for vibration from the engine. Only thing is we don't have an engine of any size (we aren't going anywhere) so if that's the reasoning than it does not apply to us. The other thing is we put in propane heat and stove with 2 tanks mounted on the outside of the boat. We have to put a solenoid on the gas line with a switch in the kitchen to shut off the gas. Don't know the reasoning behind this either.
