Typical Window Shades Blinds found on Houseboats.

Any one who has window shades or blinds on their houseboat? Our question is, how do you fix the cloth fabric window shades or blinds on a houseboat???


We have the pull up and down fabric cloth ones, and the threads are getting very thin on the sides when you pull them up in the morning.

Is there any one out there that knows how to fix them, or any ideas????

We do not want to buy brand new ones, if we don't have to.

Well Sherry, I wish I could help you about the window blinds, however our last few houseboats that we have owned used the common vinyl horizontal blinds that you typically find at Target Stores.

As a last ditch effort in order to help you, hopefully some of our readers will share and post comments about their cloth fabric houseboat window shade or blind experiences.

We put Phantom screens, a retractable screen with a solar mesh outside to keep out the flying bugs. Put same inside with a blackout material inside for privacy when in the slip.

Well I did find the window shade cord to replace the cords in our shades on our houseboat!!!! We ordered them from www.blindsparts.com

We ordered 55 yards @ 46 cents a yard. Came to about $27.00 and there is all different colors to choose from. We needed indigo, thank goodness they had it!!!

We have a 12X41 Aqua Cruiser Houseboat that we just LOVE !!

Hope this helps others that are looking for replacement cord for there shades... SHERRY
