Any European or South American houseboat communities?

Any European or South American houseboat communities?

I would like to use a houseboat for European or South American travel? Can anyone tell me about an ocean journey they (or just their houseboat being towed) have made from the states to any long distance locations?


I am interested in crossing points, planning strategies, difficulties faced, size of houseboat used, etc.

Hi Janice, welcome to the houseboat forums.

Now for some bad news, houseboats were never designed for ocean travel as they were designed for lakes, rivers, and protected waterways.

As far as houseboat communities in Europe or South America, there has to be plenty as houseboats are popular in all areas around the world.


Lastly, hopefully some of our readers and visitors will share and post comments about their related ocean travel / houseboat experiences and tips.
