Our 1973, 20 foot, trailerable Solitaire houseboat.
Looking for any info about the trailerable Solitaire houseboat manufacturer builder? I have a 1973, 20' Solitaire houseboat with a fiberglass planing hull and am trying to find more details about it.
The electrical inlet for city power is on the roof, and this seems to be the place where she leaks. It is a poor design in my way of thinking.
Anyway, would be really happy to received any info that anyone might have on this trailerable houseboat. The only information that I could find on the internet was in OZ and all of their houseboats were as big as a real house.
Happy New Year, thanks in advance, Dave, shootdown
Reply - AnswerWell Dave, congratulations on your Solitaire houseboat, it seems like a really neat trailerable house boat.
I have to be honest, I have never heard of the Solitaire houseboat, yet I have always loved to see clean, older, and rare houseboat models still being used.
It just goes to show that some of the older construction standards were very good and of top quality, since many still stand up to the test of time.
In closing, it reminds me of a 1971 houseboat that I had, and it was constructed using real stainless, brass, and thick fiberglass, and not the cheaper quality Zamac plated boat accessories that we can find on some of todays models.
Lastly, hopefully some of our readers will share and post comments about any Solitaire houseboat information or experiences. Feel free to use the "Click here to post comments." link found near the bottom of this page.
Thanks again for sharing, IAN from all-about-houseboats
