Dreaming of Living on a Houseboat in New York.
I have always dreamed of living on a houseboat, and now I feel I can make it real. I want to stay on Long Island, NY,
My problem is that many of the marinas and townships do not allow year round houseboat living. And I do not know much about buying one, but I am doing the research now. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Judy.
Reply - AnswerWell Judy, I guess I could say that I know how you feel about always dreaming about living on a house boat. It's one of the best decision I have ever made, "Life is Short".
Now getting back to "year round houseboat living". You may have to go and spend some time around some of the marinas in the area, and speak to some of the locals. You may find that there is some small loopholes or ways to "work around" certain conditions or regulations.
