I agree using the Cold Tar. We had it on our River Queen and it lasted for at least 10 years. I had to replace the keel due to bad maintenance from the previous owner, but will be replacing the bottom coat again with the Cold Tar. Good Luck

I'm not sure what you did wrong, but your best bet is to sandblast it clean and paint it with coal tar epoxy. Should be good for 5 to 10 years.
